Goshen Park – Travel

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

I’m super excited to write this post because two weekends ago, I did one of the most exciting things of my entire life. I’m a member of the Outdoors Club at my school and I’d never gone on any trips with them before, but when I saw there was a chance to go rock climbing, I just had to do it. I also convinced my boyfriend to go with me (he’s a member too) because he loves doing adventurous things.

We had a wildlife guide with us who set everything up and taught us how to do everything from the climbing to belaying to repelling off the side of a mountain. It was insane!!

It was a beautiful sunny day and I could not have asked for a better view!

I highly recommend every try rock climbing at least once, especially if you’re a thrill seeker. Hope you all like this week’s post and I’ll see you next week with another one!

Wildwood Park – Travel

Hello friends! I hope March is treating you well so far! This week’s post is going to be another “travel” one, although it wasn’t much of an actual travel as you’ll see. haha

My boyfriend and I decided to make the best of a very unusually warm weekend and take his hammock to a nearby park – about 10 minutes away. The park is beautiful though, there are several trails to walk on, a beautiful river, and a waterfall. We walked around for a little while, just enjoying the scenery while it was still so warm out and the sun was beating down on us.

Then after a little bit of walking, we decided to find the perfect two trees to hang up the hammock. We got settled in our spot, with a perfect view of the river and the ducks near by (I am a crazy animal lover haha). It was such a lovely day, just relaxing together and basking in the sun. I live for those kinds of days where everything is so calm and it’s definitely made me want to get outside more often, which is something I stopped doing for a little while because of my anxiety. Things are looking up with this warm weather!

Hope everyone’s March continues going well!

The Natural Chimneys – Travel

Hello friends!

This week I’m going to talk about my latest excursion, which was to The Natural Chimneys. If you read my “Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017” post you’ll know that one of my goals was to say yes to more things and that’s exactly what I did this past weekend – a good step forward!

My boyfriend and I both had a relatively free weekend and so I suggested that him and I go hiking on a Saturday morning. He loved the idea, especially since I had just gotten him a travel hammock for christmas and he hadn’t gotten the chance to use it yet. It was a bit of a hit and miss at first because we didn’t originally plan on going to The Natural Chimneys, but the the places we were going to go to, we realized, had “no trespassing” signs – boo. However, my roommate had suggest TNCs before and I knew it was open to the public so there should be no problems. It was actually really close to my school which was nice and the hike was really easy. It was so much fun to, we raced each other to see who could get through a path faster and climbed through areas off the path. All things I never would normally do, but did anyway! Once we got to the top, we had a great view of the chimneys (I forgot to take a picture unfortunately – rookie mistake) and then set off to find a nice spot to set up the hammock. Once we found our spot and got it set up, it was one of the most relaxing things ever and so nice to snuggle up with him in the hammock, under the blanket I brought. ┬áIt’s definitely made me want to do something like this again, and very soon too!

I’m really hoping I have some more travel posts in the near future to share with you all and pleas comment below some of your top places to travel to!
