Happy June!! It’s officially summer in my opinion and I cannot wait to relax for the next three months straight (ya know, besides working). With that, the favorite I had for May goes perfectly with the fact that summer is underway. I was non-stop using Jergens Natural Glow tinted lotion in the shade fair to medium.
Here are the features of this product:
- smells amazing
- gives a nice subtle hint of color after about three days of use
- SO moisturizing
- Doesn’t make you look orange
I know so many people who have tried tinted lotions and felt like they either weren’t moisturizing or made their skin a fake tan color, which no one likes. Jergens, however, doesn’t do any of that. It’s such nice quality and makes you skin look glowing. I will continue to use this until I die because it’s that good of a product. I highly recommend this to anyone, who like me, doesn’t always have the time to tan or get out in the sun as often as you’d like, to get a little color.
Here is a photo of my legs just after shaving (so with practically baby-new skin) and my left leg has nothing on it and my right leg has just one coat of the tinted moisturizer. The photo was taken just seconds after applying and you can already see a difference!
Let me know if you all have any tinted moisturizers that you love too and I’ll have to try them out! I love Jergens, but I’m open to trying other great products too. I’ll see you all next week with another post!
Happy Wednesday everyone! Now that I’m back home for the summer and have a more flexible working schedule, I get to appreciate my morning time a bit more – especially since I’m a total morning person. However, I figured I’d show you the quick morning routine I’ve been using for most of the year. Below you’ll find all of the products I use and my step-by-step process.
*Please note that this is also done after showering (I shower in the mornings because my hair doesn’t agree with showering at night haha)
- Cleanse- I have oily/combination skin and sometimes even just between getting out of the shower and getting dressed my skin is already kind of oily again, so I just use Simple Micellar water on a cotton pad to just cleanse my skin one more time before I use the rest of my products. However, if that doesn’t happen or I do all of this before I get dressed, then in the shower I use Dove white bar soap and a washcloth to scrub my face.
- Apply Skin Cream/Scrub- I use Adapalene Gel, which is a prescription skin cream that I get through my dermatologist because without it my skin is a nightmare, but I haven’t had real acne in years because of this stuff. I apply it all over my face with my hands, which are clean from my shower, and rub it into my skin. However, when I didn’t have access to this, a good charcoal scrub did wonders too.
- Moisturize- Once the skin cream has dried, I apply Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion all over my face, but most importantly around my lips and nose because for some reason I tend to get really dry and red skin there (even though it’s part of my T-zone). This lotion is perfect for during the summer because it’s not too heavy, however, I’ve discovered I’ll need something a little more moisturizing during the winter.
I do these steps every single day and I’ve been complimented so many times on my complexion. When I have the time, I do take some extra steps to help keep my skin clean so if you’d like to see a more pampered morning routine then like this post or comment down below! I’ll see you all back here next Wednesday!
If you’re anything like me, then anytime a blogger or youtuber mentions a new beauty product, you HAVE to try it out yourself. Growing up, I wasn’t always super interested in makeup or skin care – and I still don’t wear that much makeup on a daily basis – but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve fallen in love with the beauty industry. However, as a college student working a just-above-minimum-wage job, I don’t have tons of money to spend on the newest makeup and skin care products. This means that I have a giant wish list of products that I would love to get my hands on to try out. I thought I’d share with you all some of the things on my list! I put links below to all of the products and they can all be found on Ulta. I personally prefer to shop there because they have a rewards system that is actually worth it.
Skin Care Products:
So many things I want and so little extra money to buy them. Let me know if any of you have these products and what products you really want to get your hands on! Remember to share and follow my blog if you’re enjoying it! (:
Happy May everyone! I find it so crazy that April has come and gone, and that summer is nearly here. I can’t say I’m complaining, though. That being said, today’s post is a monthly favorite for April. It took me a little while to figure out what I would talk about because I haven’t really tried any new beauty products, but there was one things I had to buy this month that is more of a beauty tool: a new curling wand.
I’m the type of person that uses things to their death. I already had a curling wand, but I had been using it for 7 years and it finally died on me. I didn’t think buying a new one from the same company would give me different results when styling my hair, but it did! I use a 1-1/2 inch ceramic curling wand by Remington. It has all of the same features as my last one, but the newness of it definitely showed. The loose waves I create with it last way longer throughout the day, even into second-day hair, and the waves themselves just look nicer than they did before. There are also some added perks to the wand, such as:
- only takes 30 seconds to heat up
- comes with a heat glove to protect your hand from the open barrel
- easy to use
- rotating wire plug which is so nice because you never have to worry about the wire ripping open from twisting it around
- inexpensive at around $20
If you’re in the market for a new curling wand, then I highly recommend the Remington one. Plus, the last one I had from them lasted seven years, it basically paid for itself. Comment below a product you’ve been loving this month and follow if you like the content. (: See you all next Wednesday!
Hello friends! Let me just say that the weather this week has been amazing! It was 85 degrees yesterday – how crazy is that?? Summer is fast approaching and I’m very ready for it.
As for the matter at hand, this week’s post, as I’m sure you can tell from the title, is my daily makeup routine which only takes about 10 minutes! As a reminder, all of the steps in my routine come after I have cleansed my face thoroughly with either Dove bar soap or Simple Micellar water. On the majority of days I have 4 main steps to my routine, including:
- spot concealer- I use Almay Clear Complexion Concealer Corrector in the shade 100 light for any uneven skin tones, acne, or redness
- under-eye concealer- I use Neutrogena Healthy Skin 3-in-1 concealer for eyes, which is a concealer, eye cream, and sun protection all in one, in the shade fair 05
- matte powder foundation- I use Covergirl Clean Matte powder foundation to get rid of any shininess in the shade 510 classic ivory
- mascara- currently, I’m using L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar in the shade blackest black
You may notice that I don’t use a liquid foundation in my daily routine and that is because I have very sensitive skin. I try to use very minimal makeup on a daily basis to keep my skin from braking out too badly. I only really use liquid foundation and I have major redness or dry patches on my face. However, if I want to add a little something to my look I’ll lightly fill in my brows using the Naked Basics palette. I’ve been using all of these products (minus the mascara) for years and I love all of them. It gives me the perfect, effortless, no makeup-makeup look.
I hope you all found this post useful and let me know what your daily makeup routine is! I have a great post lined up for next week so subscribe if you want a notification when it comes out!
Happy first Wednesday of April! Spring is definitely among us, everyone, and I am SO here for it. The weather is steadily in the mid-50s and 60s and I’m very excited for all the things that come along with warmer weather! One thing I will be happy to say goodbye to is dry skin. This past winter has been the worst for me as far as dry skin goes – my normal lotion (which I’ve used for years) wasn’t even cutting it. That being said, all of this leads into what my favorite was for March.
I can’t believe I’ve never thought to do this before and some of you probably use it all the time, but Vaseline saved my skin when I last had a cold and the skin around my mouth and nose were grossly dry. I would just take a cotton swab and put a decent layer over the areas that were really dry and I’d wake up in the morning with soft and significantly less dry skin. I did that for few nights towards the end of my cold and once it was over, my skin was completely back to normal, thanks to Vaseline. If anyone else is having this problem, I 10/10 recommend using it!
This had led me into thinking about switching my lotion over to a Vaseline lotion too, because it worked so well and didn’t cause any horrible side effects to my very sensitive skin. If any of you do have the Vaseline lotion please comment on how it works for you and if you recommend it!
I’ll be back next week with another post! In the mean time feel free to go back and read some of my past blog posts and follow if you like what you’re reading! (:
Hello everyone! I’m sorry this post is a week late, but I was pretty sick last week with a sinus infection that made me feel so horrible that I, admittedly, cried about how bad I felt. haha However, I’m not back and feeling much better and you may have noticed that I didn’t do a Monthly Favorite for February. Well, that’s because I only bought one thing and I have to say it wasn’t much of a favorite.
That being said, I’m doing a product review of the one item that I mentioned I bought, which was the L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara in the shade “blackest black” (darn my hazel eyes).
It wasn’t that the product was bad, by any means. It was actually a great product, but it didn’t give me results that I couldn’t already get from the mascara that I had been using and trusting for years. It’s a two-step product: 1) eyelash primer and 2) mascara and the idea of a two-step mascara intrigued me since I had never tried one before. I initially liked it more than my other mascara, but as I continued to use it I realized the results were almost the same except – and it sucks that this is true – the mascara was more clumpy than I’m comfortable with. I’m okay with a little clumpy-ness because I think it helps make my lashes stand out more, but this was more than I would like. Again, not a bad product, just not better than my beloved mascara, but give it a try if you’re in the market for a two-step mascara!
I’m really enjoying trying out products and letting you all know what I think of them, so comment or like this post if you would like to see more of these kinds of posts! See you next Wednesday!!
